Adidas Adizero f50 Shoes Connect with Your iDevices

Do you find yourself thinking “Gee, I sure wish my shoes were compatible with my iPhone and my iPad,” on a regular basis? Well, someone at Adidas shares that sentiment, and the company has just released some Mi-Coach equipped Adidas adizero f50 Shoes.

The shoes are designed for soccer (or football internationally) players, and contain a sensor in the outsole, much like the Nike+ shoes released by Nike for fitness enthusiasts. The upgraded adizero f50 shoes provide more detailed information that helps track pacing.

Adidas’ new shoes include basic tracking information like average speed and distance, but they are also able to track maximum speed, number of sprints, distance at higher intensity levels, and time. The MiCoach Speed Cell captures 360 degree movement and measures key performance metrics.

Flash memory in the tracking cell will hold a total of seven hours of data, which is more than long enough to last through several practices or games. The cell will connect to a Mac, Windows PC, or any Apple iDevice with a wireless adapter that is able to plug into a standard USB or into the iPad/iPhone dock connector.

Apps are also provided so players can check recent and historical data to find areas to improve. While these are seemingly designed for pro soccer players, I’m sure you regular joes can get your hands on a pair too.

Unfortunately, Adidas has not yet announced when the adizero f50 miCoach shoes will be publicly available. However, they can be pre-ordered at Soccer.com, for the price of $279.98.
