Beyonce Releases App of Roseland Concert

Pop star Beyonce played four sold-out concerts at New York’s Roseland Ballroom in August of 2011. The mini concerts, called “4 Intimate Nights With Beyonce” were played to a maximum of 3,500 attendees for each night.

The entire engagement was recorded and later released as a DVD set that included coverage of the concerts, behind-the-scene footage, a short documentary of Beyonce’s career, starting at the age of nine with Destiny’s Child. Today, Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia Records announce the release of an app, Beyonce Live At Roseland, that is an iOS release of the DVD content.

The universal app features the full Roseland concert and a photo gallery containing over 25 photos that can be shared via Facebook or through email. Additionally, the app allows fans to download the bonus documentaries, “Behind The Stage” and “Behind The Camera.”

“Offering all of these materials in an App represents an industry first and demonstrates again why Beyonce is a music and entertainment industry visionary,” said Brent Brookler, CEO and founder, Treemo Labs.   “We’re extremely fortunate to have been able to work with her and her team on this project.”

This is the first of its kind of offering long-form content via mobile apps that were previously only available through DVD purchases. Beyonce’s entertainment company, Parkwood Entertainment is sure to make strides in the music industry with this submission. It is available for the iPad for $8.99 in the App Store.
