Boxee App Gets An Update, Adds Global Spotify and Remote Control

The box-top streaming video company Boxee Inc. has just released an update to their iPad app that will allow users to control programing from their tablet as well as play files from where you last left off. Additionally, Spotify Premium is now globally usable instead of only where the streaming music program has launched.

Previously, programing controls only existed on the iPhone/iPod touch version of the Boxee app.

Now, iPad users can be just as lazy as everyone else. The addition of play from previous position will be a great addition for Boxee users. Other added features in this update include the ability to adjust the streaming quality of a video if your Internet connection is not up to speed, continuous AirPlay sessions in the background and iOS 5 support.

Subscribers to Spotify Premium will get a real treat if they are using the Boxee for iPad app anywhere that the music-streaming site has not currently launched. Now, you can take advantage of your premium service from anywhere in the world.

Boxee is a streaming media hub that you can either purchase as a box-top or download into a home computer that can be hooked up to your television. It works by finding television shows and movies from across the Internet and showing them to you in one, easy location. Boxee for iPad is a free app that can be used in conjunction with the program.
