Rumors: iPad 3 Ready To Ship In March 2012

Japanese blog Macotakara recently reported that production of the next generation of the iPad has already started and the goal is to ship units this upcoming March.
Translated through Google Chrome, the blog states that Pegatron Technology is set to manufacture 85 percent of the load, while Foxconn will take on the leftover 15 percent.
According to Macotakara, the next generation iPad will be nearly identical to the iPad 2, sporting the same rounded corner design, dock connector, button placement and camera positions. However, the third iPad will be slightly thicker, so tight-fitting cases will become obsolete.
These rumors seem to be on-par with what others have been saying recently. Macotakara stated that Sharp Electronics would be manufacturing the display screen, something that Digitimes also reported in December. Although it is unknown whether the iPad 3 will have IGZO panels or the current IPS panels. The March launch of the next generation of iPad has been rumored for months. A writer for iLounge reportedly got their hands on a prototype of the iPad 3 and said it is nearly identical to its predecessor except that it is slightly thicker.
The blogger at Macotakara mentions that, maybe the upcoming Apple tablet should be called an iPad 2S instead of iPad 3. Externally, the design doesn’t seemed to have changed much, even though the guts have improved greatly.
