Shelby.tv Launches Service with an iPad App

A new video-based service is now available on the iPad from New York City startup Shelby.tv. The just-released iOS app allows users to make and view social video recommendations through integration with Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.
Users of Shelby.tv log into the app and then connect with social networks to receive a constant feed of videos that are linked by friends and contacts on those networks. It’s essentially an easy-to-use aggregation of every video from several different feeds.
Within the app or on the Shelby.tv website, users can watch the videos, re-share favorites, and bookmark them for viewing later. I downloaded the app and found it to be much better than watching videos through Facebook and Twitter. On Facebook, videos are displayed in a small format, and on Twitter, it’s necessary to click an outside link, making this service from Shelby.tv quite useful.
The app features a simple interface with quick social network integration. Viewing, saving, and sharing are easy processes, and visually, the app is gorgeous.
