Soundmatters and Pioneer Reveal New Audio Options Ahead of CES

CES is coming up next week, so we’re getting hints of the electronics that will show up at the technology tradeshow. Soundmatters, known for its high-quality, portable speakers, has announced the foxLO, which is the world’s first palm-sized hi-fi subwoofer designed to be used with all of your mobile devices.

Pioneer also has a set of impressive new audio players with Airplay and DLNA 1.5 wireless technologies, allowing music lovers to access their stored music in a variety of ways.

Soundmatters’ foxLO is constructed with Linear Magnetic Drive woofer technology with a passive radiator system and 25 watt amplification that adds a deeper, cleaner bass to the company’s foxLv2 line of speakers, which have been nominated for the Best of CES award for most innovative Bluetooth technology.

foxLO will work with the foxLv2 and other audio options, like the Jawbone Jambox, to create an ultra-compact, portable full-range audio system. At just 4h x 2.5w x 6.3d inches, this subwoofer will go where you go, from desk to suitcase and everywhere in between.

The N-30 and N-50 from Pioneer are designed to reproduce high-resolution digital music and in addition to networking, they feature vTuner Internet radio, iPhone and Android control apps, plus a 2.5-inch full-color LCD display.

With AirPlay, the two systems let consumers listen to all music in their iTunes library and access any AirPlay enabled apps, like Pandora Internet Radio, Spotify, and other music streaming services. The systems are similar, but the high end model, the N-50, features an armored chassis to resist noise, gold RCA jacks for better audio connections, and enhanced audio features like Advanced Sound Retriever to improve the audio quality of compressed audio files.

The foxLO subwoofer will debut at CES this month, at the Soundmatters Booth #3728. It will be available for purchase during the Spring of 2012 for $149. Soundmatters’ foxLv2 Platinum speaker can currently be purchased on the Soundmatters website for $229.

Pioneer’s N-30 and N-50 audio players are currently available for purchase in stores for $499 and $699 respectively, to locate one nearby visit the Pioneer website.
