WiFi Syncing Now Available with Newly Released iTunes 10.5

Apple has aptly tag-lined the new iTunes 10.5 release with “Buy here. Automatically get it everywhere.” and that couldn’t be more accurate (or exciting). Featuring total integration with iCloud, iTunes now gives you access to all of your purchases on all of your devices without the hassle of syncing each one with your computer.
Speaking as somebody who has been working with iOS 5 and iCloud as a developer in the beta program, once you begin using the WiFi syncing you will be completely spoiled and won’t be able to help but wonder how you ever managed to use your devices the ‘old-fashioned way’. Since performing the initial iOS 5 beta installations on my iPhone and iPad 2 I haven’t once pulled out the cable to sync my devices with my computer and to say it feels liberating is an understatement.
The concept is simple and the execution just as simple. Grab a song, app, TV show or movie from iTunes while hanging out on the couch with your iPad and the next time you are in the car with your iPhone and want to start rocking out –your new music is available and ready!
Other new features in iTunes 10.5 include the ability to download past purchases and the introduction of iTunes Match. With iTunes Match you get all of the benefits of the cloud combined with your own personal music collection, including content you didn’t purchase through Apple! Using the service, iTunes Match will review your imported audio content and match it automatically to songs already stored in the cloud. This means not having to upload those songs yet having them available on all of your devices! If something isn’t available among the 19 million titles in the iTunes library, only the songs without a match need to be uploaded, meaning your storage requirements are minimal yet no content is left out.
Plus, with the enhancements made to AirPlay you can launch and play your iTunes content wirelessly without needing a dock or cable in order to make it happen!
Finally, iTunes is something people can rave about instead of dreading having to work with.
